2013: Made 21 appearances, including 11 starts. Scored three goals regular-season and added four assists (including one game-winning assist). Drew his first start of the season against New York (May 11). Issued a red card at Houston (May 18) after an incident with Dynamo defender Bobby Boswell and missed game against Toronto (May 25) serving one-game suspension. Missed two matches (June 2 vs. LA and June 8 vs. DC) while recovering from a left groin strain suffered in the team’s third-round U.S. Open Cup match at Rochester (May 28). Scored his first goal of the season at Vancouver (June 15) in the team’s 4-3 loss. Scored against San Jose (July 6) in a 2-0 win. Issued his second red card of season against Houston (July 13) and missed the Colorado match (July 17) serving one-game suspension, and returned to the starting lineup against Columbus (July 20). Scored at D.C. (July 27) marking his third goal in seven games. Issued his club-record third red card of the season at Kansas City (Aug. 10) and missed the game against Chicago (Aug. 17) while serving his suspension. Recorded his first two career MLS assists against Philadelphia (Aug. 25), setting up Kelyn Rowe’s goal that was nominated for goal of the week, and then Juan Agudelo’s second goal. Recorded an assist on Saer Sene’s goal at Chicago (Sept. 14). Recorded his first career game-winning assist against Columbus (Oct. 19). Started both of the team’s matches in the MLS Cup Playoffs against Sporting Kansas City. Played 71 minutes in the team’s 2-1 win over Kansas City (Nov 2.) in leg 1 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals, and scored first career playoff goal in the team’s 3-1 loss in leg 2 (Nov. 6). Started all three of the team’s U.S. Open Cup matches, scoring one goal. Started at Rochester (May 28) in the third round, but left the game with an injury in the 33rd minute. Scored the game-winning goal against New York (June 12) in the fourth round.
2012: Was a mid-summer signing by the Revolution, signing on July 16 and formally joining the club on July 20. Made nine appearances at forward, including four starts. Scored one goal. Made his Revolution – and MLS – debuts in a substitute appearance at Philadelphia (July 29). Made his first start against Kansas City (Aug. 4). Scored his first career goal – the game-winner – in a start at forward against Columbus (Sept. 5). Made two starts at forward in MLS Reserve League action. Scored one goal for the reserves, which came against Montreal (Aug. 13).
BEFORE MLS: Spent the 2011-12 season on loan from 1860 Munich to German third division club SV Darmstadt 98, where he made 13 appearances and had two assists ... began his professional career with TSV 1860 Munich, moving up from its youth team to its reserve team ... played parts of four seasons (2008-09 to 2011-12) with TSV 1860 Munich II, the reserve side which plays in the lower levels of Germany’s professional system ... after making his debut appearance with the reserves in 2009, he made 16 appearances and scored 16 goals while adding one assist in the 2009-10 season ... followed that with six goals and three assists in 25 appearances in 2010-11 ... also played on 1860 Munich’s Under-19 team, making 17 appearances and scoring two goals in 2008-09.
