New England Revolution Academy Highlights: September 14, 2023

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Revolution Academy continued MLS NEXT fall action last weekend with all five teams tallying a total of 23 goals and collecting a 6-0-0 record in matches against Oakwood Soccer Club and Seacoast United.

The defending two-time MLS NEXT Cup champion U-19s opened their fall season with two straight clean sheets, earning a 7-0 victory over Oakwood on Saturday followed by a 1-0 win over Seacoast United on Sunday. Forward Bryce Flowers (2005 – Sharon, Mass.) tallied a hat trick on Saturday and the game winner on Sunday in the 82nd minute. Goalkeeper Ryan Carney (2006 – Dunstable, Mass.) started both matches.

The U17s earned a 3-1 win over Oakwood as Simon Henao (2007 – Dedham, Mass.) equalized in the 75th minute followed by Cristiano Oliveira (2008 – Somerville, Mass.) tallying a brace in the 80th and 85th minutes to secure the comeback victory. Judah Siqueira (2009 – South Easton, Mass.) and Joshua Macedo (2009 – Santa Clarita, Calif.) both scored in the U-15s’ 2-0 win over Oakwood as Ryker Fauth (2009 – Milford, Mass.) earned the clean sheet.

The U-14s tallied seven goals of their own against Oakwood as Brandon Velez (2010 – Concord, Mass.) recorded a hat trick while David Sellars (2010 – Holbrook, Mass.) and Lucas Pereira (2010 – East Merrimack, N.H.) each registered braces in the match. Goalkeeper Mason Yang (2010 – Windsor, Conn.) earned the start in the shutout victory.

The U-13s closed out the weekend with a 3-0 win over Oakwood. Arthur Bernadino (2011 – Shirley, Mass.), Rickelme De Almeida (2011 – Easton, Mass.), and Davi Pereira (2011 – Revere, Mass.) all scored with goalkeeper Charles Wallace (2010 – Burlington, V.T.) earning the start in net in the clean sheet victory.

All five Academy teams return to action this weekend, taking on FC Boston Bolts on Saturday. The 17s will face off against Toronto FC Academy while the 14s and 13s will each play Valeo FC on Sunday.
