Revs captain tore the ACL in his right knee on Saturday against Seattle
FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – New England Revolution captain Steve Ralston suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee on Saturday, Sept. 26, in the Revs’ match against Seattle, and will miss the remainder of the 2009 season. Surgery to repair the injury will be scheduled for a later date.
Ralston, 35, appeared in 20 games this season, ranking second on the team in both goals (7) and assists (7). Ralston is Major League Soccer’s career leader in games played (378), games started (372), minutes (33,143), assists (135) and game-winning assists (41).
The Revolution (10-8-7, 37 pts.) currently sits third in the Eastern Conference, and returns to action this Wednesday, Sept. 30, when the team travels to Dallas to face FC Dallas at 7 p.m. ET at the Cotton Bowl. Comcast Sports Net New England will televise the game live.
