Lee Nguyen steals the show as the Revs roll to victory over SKC

It was a night of firsts at Gillette Stadium, as the Revs took on the defending MLS champion Sporting Kansas City in a midweek clash. The Revs came from behind to clinch their first season-series victory over Sporting KC since 2007. Jermaine Jones made his first start and recorded his first assist in MLS play. Revs rookie Patrick Mullins also recorded his first career assist. Check out Frank Dell’Apa’s piece in the Boston Globe to see what head coach Jay Heaps made of his team’s 3-1 comeback victory.

Although last night was headlined by Jermaine Jones’ first start for the Revs, Lee Nguyen stole the show with another jaw-dropping, two-goal performance. Brian O’Connell of ESPN Boston takes a look at Nguyen’s performance and what the result means for the Revs moving forward. O’Connell also caught up with Jermaine Jones to discuss his first start at Gillette Stadium.

If you were in the crowd last night or watching the game on TV, it is undeniable that Lee Nguyen’s two-goal performance was something special. As of late, the quick-footed midfielder has continued to build his case as one of the Revs’ most valuable players this season. Hear what head coach Jay Heaps had to say about Nguyen’s performance last night in Craig Forde’s piece in MLSsoccer.com.

Teal Bunbury’s game-tying goal at the end of the first half proved that practice makes perfect.
