Revolution fans encouraged to bring cards to Saturday’s game for Foxborough’s Danny Nickerson

Local 6-year-old diagnosed with DIPG has a birthday wish for cards that’s gone viral

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – New England Revolution fans are encouraged to show compassion and support for 6-year-old Foxborough resident Danny Nickerson by bringing birthday cards for him to Saturday’s Revs match against the Columbus Crew at Gillette Stadium at 7:30 p.m.

Nickerson has gained worldwide notoriety for his recent wish to only receive a box of cards for his sixth birthday, which is tomorrow (July 25). He was diagnosed with diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG) last October. DIPG is an inoperable brain tumor that is resistant to chemotherapy.

Danny’s wish has gone viral worldwide, with people from all over the world sending him cards, including celebrities and athletes, and his story garnering attention all over the world.

Saturday, birthday cards for Danny will be collected in the New England Revolution Charitable Foundation Drive Series bins, located in the NRG Plaza and Bank of America Gates at Gillette Stadium.
