Revolution’s charitable drive for soccer supplies set for Saturday

Revs will collect fans’ soccer gear for Project GOAL on Saturday vs. Philadelphia

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - The New England Revolution’s second collection in the 2014 Charitable Drive series is set for Saturday, June 28, when Revs fans are asked to donate new or gently-used soccer supplies at the team’s 7:30 p.m. match against the Philadelphia Union at Gillette Stadium.

Donations will benefit Project GOAL, and fans who make a donation on Saturday will receive an autographed Revolution player card. Project GOAL is a Rhode Island-based program that facilitates the development of the area’s disadvantaged youth through after-school tutoring and soccer-related programs.

Donations will be accepted starting at 6 p.m., and end at approximately 7:45 p.m. Collection bins will be set up near the Gillette Stadium ProShop in NRG Plaza, as well as in the Bank of America Plaza.

Items needed by Project GOAL include the following new or gently-used soccer equipment: soccer balls, cleats, shin guards, water bottles, pinnies and cones.
