FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Revolution will train this week in Foxborough before departing Saturday for its second and final extended preseason trip to Tucson, Ariz., where the team will compete in the Desert Diamond Cup, hosted by FC Tucson (PDL). The tournament will also feature the Chicago Fire, Chivas USA, Colorado Rapids and Real Salt Lake, as well as FC Tucson. This will be the third straight year that the Revs compete in the tournament

Coaching staff changes: Miller departs
Assistant coach Jay Miller has left the Revolution’s coaching staff for personal reasons and has returned to his residence in Atlanta … Miller informed the Revs of his plans at the end of the 2013 season and the club had been planning for his departure all off-season … Tom Soehn was announced as the Revolution’s new assistant on Jan. 10, and has been with the team since the MLS Combine … Miller stayed on with the staff through the Combine, MLS SuperDraft and through the team’s preseason trip to Bradenton, Fla., but has now departed from the team.
Revs go 1-0-2 in first preseason action
The Revs wrapped up their 12-day trip to Bradenton, Fla., with a 1-0-2 record in three scrimmages … after playing to a 1-1 draw against Swedish champion Malmo FF on Friday, Jan. 31, the Revs and Philadelphia Union played to a 1-1 draw on Tuesday, Feb. 4 … the Revs wrapped up their Bradenton competition schedule with a 2-1 win over the Ft. Lauderdale Strikers (NASL) on Thursday, Feb. 6 … trialist Evan Melo scored the team’s lone goal against the Union, while Dimitry Imbongo and Darrius Barnes scored in the win over the Ft. Lauderdale Strikers.

2014 Pub Tour kicks off Tuesday
Revs players are scheduled to stop by several of the region's top bars and pubs – all official pub partners of the Revolution – this week as part of the Revolution’s official 2014 Pub Tour … three Pub Tour dates will be held Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday … at each stop, fans will get the opportunity to mingle with their favorite players in a casual setting during the team’s brief stay in New England between preseason training trips.

Turf Tour returns in mid-February
The Revs will host its annual Turf Tour at regional sports centers this winter, with pre-selected children having the opportunity to participate in a special clinic … each event will include a soccer clinic, appearance by Revolution mascot Slyde and raffles to win special Revs prizes … the clinics will be run by Revolution Academy coaches, and at the last stop, three Revs players will help with the clinic.

Boston RevGirls Search Final set for Feb. 19
After a postponement last week because of severe weather, the Boston-area Rev Girl Search Final has been rescheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 19, at The Greatest Bar (262 Friend St., Boston, Mass.) … the event will determine the final members for one of the New England Revolution’s 2014 promotional teams … the event will run from 9-11 p.m., with the following celebrity judges scheduled to determine the newest RevGirls:

- Kayla Harrison, 2012 Olympic Judo Gold Medalist
- Ben Kichen, WEEI producer and SoccerCast host

National Anthem auditions to be held March 19
The Revs are giving local musicians the opportunity to perform in the same venue where superstars like One Direction, George Strait and Tim McGraw will play this summer … the Revolution is looking for talented soloists, groups, instrumentalists and other unique musicians to perform the anthem for the team’s 2014 home games at Gillette Stadium … performers who wish to be considered should submit their sample performances digitally between now and 4 p.m. on Wednesday, March 12 … a select group of performers from among those submitting samples in advance will be called back for the live final auditions, which will be held at The Lansdowne Pub (9 Lansdowne St., Boston, Mass.) on Wednesday, March 19, at 6 p.m. … interested performers should submit the following information to email@example.com:

Desert Diamond Cup tickets on sale
Tickets for the 2014 FC Tucson Desert Diamond Cup hosted by FC Tucson (USL PDL) are now on sale … for the third consecutive year , the Revs will participate in the February tournament to wrap up their preseason training … the Chicago Fire, Chivas USA, the Colorado Rapids and Real Salt Lake will also join the Revs in Tucson for the tournament … the round-robin group games will be played on Wednesday, Feb. 19, Saturday, Feb. 22 and Wednesday, Feb. 26, before the championship and consolation games are played on Saturday, March 1 … tickets are available for purchase by clicking HERE.
