Kalifa Cisse wanted a new challenge after his time with Bristol City ended in 2012. While he could have continued his career in Europe, he saw joining MLS as a great opportunity. He believes he can be a leader for the Revolution and so does head coach Jay Heaps.
 
 
Heading into the 2013 season, the Revolution used the MLS SuperDraft, Homegrown player rule, a transfer loan and free agent signing to bolster the roster. Head coach Jay Heaps is optimistic about all of these additions and is ready to hit the ground running during preseason.
