Forward Jerry Bengtson has advanced to the Sweet 16 of the 2012 Latino del Año, a competition in which fans vote for the top Latino player in MLS. Winning his group with 52.46% of the vote, Bengtson, a Honduran, will take on the Fire’s Álvaro Fernández in the Round of 16. Vote Jerry on to MLSsoccer.com’s quarterfinals!
 
Bengtson has been called back to the Honduran National Team, which is scheduled to play Peru in a friendly today. The Revs’ forward has appeared consistently for the Honduran team since 2010, earning previous 22 caps. Soccer America looks this and other international call-ups in this piece.
