Preseason finale, Eastern Conference, MLS Commissioner Don Garber

The New England Revolution wrapped up the 2011 preseason yesterday with a 3-1 loss at the hands of the Houston Dynamo in Kennesaw, Ga., in the Atlanta Pro Soccer Challenge. Revs staff writer and online host Jeff Lemieux, Boston.com’s blog Corner Kicks, New England Soccer Today and the Boston Pro Soccer Examiner all had coverage of the preseason finale.

Many Revs fans around New England had been burning for a glimpse of the team in a preseason game, but Soccer Soap Box warns fans to be careful what they wish for.

In his weekly McCarthy’s Musings column on MLSsoccer.com, Revs beat writer Kyle McCarthy takes a look at the entire MLS Eastern Conference predicts how things will finish in 2011. McCarthy also explained the positives that coach Steve Nicol and the Revolution can take away from Sunday’s loss to the Dynamo.

MLS Commissioner Don Garber made some recent comments about the state of soccer in MLS, including his feelings on the refereeing around the league. Paul Gardner from SoccerAmerica.com found the commissioner’s insight to be spot on.
