2010 Revolution Schedule Unveiled

Major League Soccer today unveiled its 2010 regular-season schedule, a slate that sees each of the 16 teams play a 30-game schedule beginning March 25 and ending on October 24. For the first time in league history, each of the league’s 16 teams will play a balanced schedule, meeting each of the other 15 teams once at home and once on the road.

Four of the Revs’ matches will be nationally televised on one of Major League Soccer’s three broadcast partners – ESPN2/ABC, Fox Soccer Channel/Fox Soccer Channel en Español and Telefutura. The team’s regional broadcast schedule will be announced in the near future.

After opening the season on the road against the LA Galaxy on March 27, the New England Revolution will travel to the Nation’s Capital to face rival D.C. United on April 3. The team opens its 2010 home slate against Toronto FC on April 10.

Among the schedule’s other highlights, the Revolution will host I-95 foe, the New York Red Bulls, on May 29 at Gillette Stadium. Arch-rival Chicago visits Foxborough on June 30, before New England travels to defending MLS champion Real Salt Lake on July 2 to kick off the holiday weekend.

The Revolution makes its first-ever visit to Philadelphia and new league entrant the Union on July 31, with D.C. traveling to Gillette Stadium on Aug. 7. After a two-game road trip to Chicago on August 18 and to the team’s newest rival, Kansas City, on Aug. 21, Philly is scheduled to play the return leg of the series at Gillette Stadium on Aug. 28. Kansas City’s visit to Gillette Stadium on Oct. 16 caps the team’s home slate.

The 2010 MLS schedule features a two-week break – June 11 through June 25 – that aligns with the group phase of the FIFA World Cup,

New England will also participate in SuperLiga 2010, marking the team’s third tournament appearance including winning the SuperLiga 2008 title, later in the summer. The full SuperLiga 2010 schedule will be released later this year.

Revolution season ticket packages – which include tickets to all 15 regular-season Revolution home games, three additional soccer events and free parking, among many other amenities – and multiple-game packages are on sale now.
