TELEVISION
In January 2009, the Revolution announced that the team has extended its successful partnership with TV38 (WSBK-TV), signing a new three-year exclusive television rights agreement that makes TV38 the team's regional television broadcast partner in the Boston market.
The deal continues the Revolution's proud tradition of having every MLS match televised during the course of the club's 14-season history.
In addition to the Revs' matches on TV38, a selection of Revs games will be televised on national broadcast partners ESPN2 and Fox Soccer Channel, in addition to Spanish language broadcast partner Univision (which also includes the Galavision and Telefutura networks).
This season, Kraft Sports Productions will again produce every regionally-televised Revolution match. KSP is headed by Executive Producer Matt Smith and Senior Coordinating Producer Dave Mondillo. Revolution Broadcasting Executive Brad Feldman supervises production, with Shaw Brown and Jim Daddona returning as the primary producers for Revs’ regional telecasts. The experienced tandem of Bob Frattaroli and Shawn Jensen again share directorial duties.
Revs broadcasts in 2009 will again feature innovative replays that sit side-by-side with live action so fans can have multiple looks at important plays without missing live action.
RADIO
The Revolution is also committed to the best in live game radio coverage. Again this season, Boston's Sportsradio 850 WEEI AM, the 50,000-watt market leader, will be the primary carrier for Revs radio along with WEEI 103.7 FM in Providence, WVEI-FM WVEI 105.5 FM in Springfield and WVEI 1440 AM in Worcester. Conflicting games will be broadcast on WEEI's sister station, WRKO 680 AM. All WEEI and WRKO games can also be heard streaming live on www.revolutionsoccer.net.
All 30 Revolution regular-season games will again be broadcast on radio and on the web. Jason Dvorkin and Dan Tugender produce all Revolution radio and webcasting content, including the weekly talk show, "In the Net" on revolutionsoccer.net.
ANNOUNCERS
Brad Feldman (Play-by-Play)
Veteran announcer Brad Feldman is now in his ninth season with the Revolution, having called more than 250 matches involving the club. This season marks his fifth as the primary play-by-play announcer for the team's telecasts.
Feldman's resume includes play-by-play commentary for top European competitions on ESPN International and Setanta Sports and announcing MLS, USL and college matches on Fox Soccer Channel. He began his MLS broadcasting career as a sideline reporter on Kansas City Wizards telecasts in 1999. Feldman is a frequent guest on New England and national radio and TV talk programs on the subject of soccer and he hosts the weekly online/podcast, “In the Net” on revolutionsoccer.net.
Greg Lalas (Analyst)
Color Analyst Greg Lalas returns for his fourth full season in the booth. In addition to his television work, Lalas is the co-host of Extra Time, a weekly MLS news show on MLSnet.com and YouTube. He is also the U.S. site director for Goal.com and writes for SportsIllustrated.com and the New York Times’ online edition. Based in Brooklyn, N.Y., the former Revolution defender is a regular contributor to such publications as Continental Airlines Magazine and Boston Magazine.
A 1994 graduate of Brown University, Lalas captained the Bears team in 1992 and 1993, earning All-Ivy honors his senior season. He played for the Tampa Bay Mutiny in 1996 and the Revolution in 1997.
Kristina Akra (Sideline reporter)
Kristina Akra will once again work as the third member of the broadcast team, providing a field-level perspective on the game for fans watching at home. Akra handles one-on-one interviews with players and coaches, in-game updates, halftime features and is an integral part of the RevsTV postgame show. An experienced sports reporter, Akra also covers the New England Patriots year-round for Patriots Today and Patriots All-Access.
A 2006 graduate of the University of Florida, Akra began her career as a reporter for the UF news magazine show “Gator Zone” on SunSports Network. She is a former member of the Miami HEAT Dancers, and worked with HEAT TV productions and as team ambassador on TV and radio appearances.
