Hobie Hare

Head Coach and Technical Director, Boston Rams (PDL affiliate)

Hobie Hare is in his fourth season with the New England Revolution Academy, and his second as the Director of Academy Operations. Previously, he was an assistant coach with the Revolution’s Under-18 team for three years. He is the head coach and technical director of the Boston Rams, the Revolution’s PDL affiliate.

Hare helped coach the Under-18 team to four playoff berths during his time with the team, guiding the side to the playoffs in 2010, 2012, 2013 and 2014.

An experienced college coach, Hare spent two seasons as an assistant with the Tufts University men’s soccer program following three seasons as the assistant coach at DePaul University, helping lead the Blue Demons to three-consecutive berths in the BIG EAST Tournament. Hare also served as an assistant coach at Florida Gulf Coast University, the University of Massachusetts-Amherst and Rider University.

Hare spent time coaching at the club level, serving as Director of Training for the Cape Coral Soccer Association – the third-largest soccer club in Florida – in 2007 and 2008.

He played collegiately at the University of Connecticut for legendary coach Joe Morrone. After two seasons at UConn, he transferred to Rider University, where he played in two NCAA tournaments, and helped the team win two MAAC championships.

After UConn, Hare played professionally in England for Leyton Orient, before returning to the U.S. with stints with the Hershey Wildcats (A-League) and New Jersey Stallions (USL D3 Pro League).

Hare holds a NSCAA Advanced National and Premier and state goalkeeper diplomas.
