Assistant Coach, Under-18s
Deven Apajee is in his seventh year with the Revolution. His current role sees him have active and varied positions in the club’s youth development program. In addition to his role as the assistant coach for the Under-18 squad, he also serves as Program Coordinator, where he handles all administrative matters for both the Under-16 and Under-18 teams.
In addition to his duties with the Revolution youth teams, Apajee is also the Director of the Revolution Academy, the team's commercial training program that runs throughout the year across New England. Under Apajee's direction, the Revolution's commercial youth development program has expanded into a year-round training and development program in communities from Maine to Rhode Island, and now includes a residential summer program.
An experienced youth coach and player development professional, Apajee began his coaching experience with Leyton Orient FC in England as the club's Football Development Officer. After coming to the United States, he worked with MLS Camps and then served as the Director of Youth Development for the Chicago Fire. At the youth level, Apajee is the Director of Coach Education & Player Development for Rhode Island's SuperLiga, the state's youth club league, and has coached at the Premier club level for many years.
Apajee possesses an engaging style that commands young players' attention. A native of London, England, Apajee holds USSF "B" and UEFA "B" coaching licenses.
He resides in Cranston, Rhode Island, with his wife, Dawn, and two children, Danny (15) and Jess (13). Danny is a member of the Revs' Under-16 squad.
