As you know, Gillette Stadium is currently in the process of having the FieldTurf replaced with the most Revolutionary FieldTurf. When the Revolution take the field against Houston on April 12, not only will there be brand new FieldTurf, but there will also be box goals. With these box goals, there are three support poles in the back of each one (six total). They're just plain old metal poles, nothing too exciting. So, we want to jazz them up a bit. Luis Soffner spent his recent off day a little differently than the rest of his New England Revolution teammates.
Soffner hopped on a flight to Washington, D.C., on Monday morning to meet up with other members of the 2012 national champion Indiana University men's soccer team. The Hoosiers, along with 18 other NCAA Division I National Championship teams from 2012-2013, were honored by President Barack Obama as part of a ceremony at the White House.
After a tour of the White House, Soffner had the chance to introduce himself to President Obama and shake his hand before taking an official White House photo.
Photos and video from the ceremony are available HERE on Indiana University's official athletics website.
The Revolution home opener is just 12 days away! Just as we've done in previous years, we’re taking it to you to choose the 2014 Revolution goal song.
We have a few songs in mind, along with the 2013 goal song (“The Boys Are Back”) and will be launching a poll with 8-10 songs to let fans vote beginning this Wednesday, March 12.
Before we get the poll going, we'd like to allow a few days to suggest songs you'd like to hear as the 2014 goal song.
Post your suggestions in the comments, and if possible, post a link (youtube, spotify, etc.) so everyone can listen.
