UNDER-18s

The Under-18s earned a 5-2 victory against Met Oval on Saturday, extending their unbeaten streak to 12 games. Met Oval’s Jonathan Zvi scored in just the second minute of play, but the advantage did not last long. Coupar Lipp (Shrewsbury, Mass.) received a pass from Dominik Machado (Attleboro, Mass.) and curled his left-footed shot past the goalkeeper to equalize in the fourth minute. Gabe Gissie (Worcester, Mass.) doubled the Revs’ lead in the 21st minute, after Willis Griffith’s (Amherst, N.H.) through ball sprung him into a one-on-one with the goalkeeper. Alejandro Newsom then leveled the score for Met Oval in the 58th minute, making it 2-2. Breaking the deadlock, Leandro Alves (Pawtucket, R.I.) and Machado each scored unassisted goals in the 78th and 80th minutes, respectively. McCabe then registered an assist on Danny Apajee’s (Cranston, R.I.) goal a minute later. Apajee scored his second goal in the 43rd minute – assisted by Amadu Kunateh (Lynn, Mass.) – to give New England a 3-0 advantage going into halftime. Trevor Davock (Medway, Mass.) – also assisted by Kunateh – netted the Revs’ fourth goal in the 68th minute to push the score to 4-0. Goalkeeper Bruce Johnson (Brewster, Mass.) made five saves en route to the shutout.
